Flu Season Update

We would like to inform you that the 2020/21 flu season, will commence on the 26th September 2020. Flu is normally a self-limiting infection in healthy individuals. However, those that are vulnerable are at increased risk of developing complications. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you are vaccinated against, if you are eligible. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we will be prioritising first those patients who have been identified as high risk (clinically extremally vulnerable*) from coronavirus. We will then be releasing appointments, to those who are identified as moderate risk (clinically vulnerable**) from coronavirus. Please contact the surgery, if you are either one of our high or moderate risk patients, as flu vaccination appointments are now available. Later in the year, the flu vaccine may be given to patients aged 50 to 64. More information will be released later this Autumn, once this has been released from Public Health England.
