Repeat Prescriptions Online! Simple!
Getting your repeat prescriptions can be a problem if you have to regularly call or visit the practice.
If you ARE REGISTERED, visit Patient Access to manage your prescriptions online.
Repeat prescriptions now take 3 days to process – please order 7 days in advance of requirement.
Please be aware as from the 1st July 2018 THE REPEAT PRESCRIPTION LINE WILL BE CLOSED: Peartree Practice will no longer be able to take telephone requests for repeat prescriptions.
Requests for repeat prescriptions must be in writing, request to your Pharmacist, or can be made through the online system (once you have registered)(photo identification required).
Requests should arrive at least 3 working days before the prescription is required. If you have nominated a local Chemist, once signed your prescription will go electronically to them or they will collect your prescription from the Medical Centre and have it ready to collect for you at your chosen chemist. Please allow 3 working days for this service.
Prescription Charges and Exemptions
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
NHS Charges
From 1 April 2013, the charges are:
- Prescription (per item): £8.90
- 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £104.00
- 3-month PPC: £29.10
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
